PTOLEMAIC EGYPT. Ptolemy I Soter, as Satrap. (323-305 BC). AR tetradrachm (29mm, 15.64 gm, 1h). NGC XF 4/5 - 4/5, lt graffito. Ptolemaic standard. Alexandria mint. Struck in the name of Alexander III of Macedon, 307 BC. Diademed head of the deified Alexander right, wearing elephant skin headdress / AΛEΞANΔPOY, Athena Alkidemos advancing right; monogram to inner left; to right, aphlaston and eagle standing right on thunderbolt. Svoronos 154. Rare with aphlaston. Deep toning and bold detail.
