PTOLEMAIC EGYPT. Ptolemy II Philadelphus (285/4-246 BC). AV trichryson or pentadrachm (24mm, 17.72 gm, 2h). NGC Choice XF 5/5 - 2/5, ex-jewelry. Alexandria, ca. 285-270 BC. Diademed head of Ptolemy I right, aegis around neck / BAΣIΛEΩΣ ΠTOΛEMAIOY, eagle standing left on thunderbolt, wings starting to open; ΣY over IAP monogram in left field. Cf. Svoronos 354 (tetradrachm). Unpublished. This issue noted as a tetradrachm but not a pentadrachm, rusted obverse die.
