Augustus (27 BC-AD 14). AR denarius (19mm, 3.58 gm, 7h). NGC XF 5/5 - 2/5, smoothing. Spain, Colonia Caesaraugusta(?), ca. 19-18 BC. CAESAR-AVGVSTVS, oak-leaf laureate head of Augustus left / DIVVS-IVLIVS, the Julian comet with eight rays, the topmost forming a tail. RIC 37b. BMCRE 326. BN 1298. RSC 97. Rare variety with head left! Sharply struck and deeply toned with flashes of color in the fields.
