Constantine II, as Caesar (AD 337-340). AV solidus (19mm, 4.49 gm, 6h). NGC XF 5/5 - 1/5, pierced. Sirmium, AD 323. CONSTANTINVS IVN NOB CAES, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Constantine II right, seen from front / PRINCIPI-IVVEN-TVTIS, Constantine II standing facing in military dress, head left, standard in right hand, spear in left, two more standards at right, SIRM in exergue. RIC VII 40, pl. 14, 40 (same reverse die, also holed and plugged). Alföldi 356 (same reverse die as pl. 8, 134). Cohen 149. Extremely rare. Very attractive and the hole was carefully made to avoid disrupting the portrait or the emperor on the reverse.
