Victoria gold 1/2 Sovereign 1864-SYDNEY AU58 NGC, Sydney mint, KM3, Fr-10a. The Sydney Sovereign and 1/2 Sovereign series are highly sought in nearly all grades, yet are exceptionally scarce and exponentially more valuable for anything approaching Mint State. This example, with its soft fields, free of major distractions, and its near-full device definition, is just a breath away from full-blown uncirculated condition. As such, it is both extraordinarily well-preserved and will also undoubtedly receive significant bidder attention. As a comparison, we sold an example, graded MS61 by NGC, for $10,000 all-in (Sale 3037, Lot 29023). This offering, while not technically as fine, comes incredibly close, and thus the opportunity to acquire it should not be missed.
