Austrian Netherlands
Insurrection Florin 1790-(b) MS66 NGC, Brussels mint, KM48. A stellar example of this type, full of imagery depicting force and energy, struck during the revolution brought about by the perceived anti-clerical innovations of Austrian Emperor Joseph II. The surfaces of this boldly struck jewel are nearly pristine, with argent luster accenting the devices and delightful hints of russet, charcoal, and notes of blue iridescence decorating both sides. The finest example seen by NGC to-date.
