João V copper Pattern 1600 Reis 1731-M VF35 Brown NGC, Minas Gerais mint, KM125 var. (copper), Russo-268 var. A scarce copper pattern, unlisted in the SCWC. Interestingly, the piece was clearly circulated, as indicated by its grade. Luckily, for the visual appeal's sake, the devices appear to have been struck to a great depth, thus ensuring that all outlines remained pronounced over the centuries. The NGC Census clearly attests to the scarcity of the type, with the specimen at hand existing as the only certified example to-date.
