A scarce issue in any grade, this Popayan-minted piece of the desirable 1776 date displays considerable charm on its own merit. All device outlines are clear, with much of the original detail visible as well. Surfaces are an even slightly matte-textured golden hue, with considerable boldness to the legends and hints of luster remaining.
