Haile Selassie I gold Coronation Medal EE 1923 (1930) MS61 NGC, Addis Abada mint, Gill-S12. A high-relief coronation medal of exquisite detail. Haile Selassie's portrait is wonderfully sharp and detailed, whilst the reverse is absolutely Mint State; however, the die appears to have been in dreadful condition when this piece was struck, exhibiting pronounced die rust and cracks which imply a later striking date for this medal. Altogether attractive nonetheless and a scarce medal.
