Louis Philippe 2 Francs 1847-A MS67 NGC, Paris mint, KM743.1, Gad-520. The single highest graded specimen of this type by either NGC or PCGS, and an undeniably beautiful piece. Clearly uninterrupted cartwheel luster has matured a veneer of iridescent red-gold patina on the obverse, illuminating the field surrounding Louis Philippe's bold portrait; the reverse shows a misty steel-blue tinge to the otherwise argent surface. An elite example, unmatched in quality nor eye appeal.
