Republic 50 Centimes 1849-A MS67 NGC, Paris mint, KM769.1. The single-highest graded example by far, the next finest at NGC an MS65 and at PCGS an MS64. Bright and lustrous in the centers, darkening to a ring of gold, then deep red, terminating with a ring of cobalt-charcoal at the peripheries. Conditionally unique, and a beautiful specimen for the selective, grade-conscious collector.
