Bavaria. Karl Theodor Vicariat 1/2 Taler 1790 MS67 NGC, Munich mint, KM590.1 (previously KM274). Obv. Draped bust of Karl Theodor right. Rev. Double-headed eagle with arms on breast and date below. From our 2013 CICF (Chicago) auction, lot 23975, where it was described, "an absolute jewel with brilliant mint luster and soft attractive toning. The details are well-struck on both sides. A remarkable coin, and certainly among the finest extant." Only three examples of this rare type have been certified by NGC, and PCGS, combined, with this piece, by far, the finest of the three. Extremely rare in this pristine condition.
