Hamburg. Free City 2 Mark 1900-J MS68 PCGS, Hamburg mint, KM612, Jaeger-93. A fully elite specimen and the only piece so graded by PCGS, with brilliant, frosty-white and flawless surfaces that give new meaning to the words "satin" and "lustrous". Though not displaying the deep cameo contrast so often craved by connoisseurs of the early 19th-century German series, we have no little doubt that there may be no finer examples in existence. Every detail is painstakingly etched out in the die so that the luster clings to every curve and depression without fail, bringing out the full beauty of this composition that could only have been executed by a master. Surely a seldom-encountered opportunity to fill a hole in even the best collections with a supremely fine example for a type that is always desirable in high grades.
