Württemberg. Karl I "Ulm Cathedral" Proof 2 Taler 1871 PR62 NGC, Stuttgart mint, KM618, Dav-961. A charming example with an almost frosted glass appearance brought about by an even silver patina which has settled over the watery fields. All details are well-struck, as one would expect for a proof issue, the devices glistening upon rotation and contrasting well with the lower lying surfaces, which exhibit a mottled but attractive scattering of darker tones on the reverse.
