Edward III (1327-77) gold 1/2 Noble ND (1356-77) MS62 NGC, London mint, S-1492, N-1140. Crowned King with sword and shield standing facing in ship / Floriate cross with closed Є in central quadrilobe, not inverted. The single highest certified example of this rare type by either NGC or PCGS. Struck with remarkably worn dies (common for this rarer denomination), yet demonstrating essentially no wear across its rich gold surfaces. A typical attribute of this type is severe double-striking and yet this specimen exhibits a firm, definitive strike. A premium example of a rare hammered gold issue.
