Edward IV (First Reign, 1461-70) gold Ryal ND (1464-70) AU, London mint, S-1951, N-1549. Crowned King with sword and shield standing facing in ship, Є in banner at stern, large rose on hull / Rose in radiant sun over floriate cross, crowns and lions in angles, small trefoils in spandrels. Beautiful aged-gold tone, creamy surfaces exhibiting very little porosity. A daylight crack is noted at 3 o'clock on the obverse, but is barely visible unless held up to the light. A lovely example of this short-lived replacement to the Noble.
