James's portrait is remarkably bold and clear, the entire planchet gleaming with original luster; indeed one is inclined to believe this piece may be closer to Mint State than the certified grade implies. Almost fully round with some minor flan loss at 5 o'clock, sharply detailed in every aspect of the devices, a truly superb Half Laurel befitting an elite collection.
