Charles I (1625-49) gold Double Crown ND (1632-39) XF40 NGC, Tower mint, S-2703, N-2168. Harp mm. Simply delightful, a well-produced specimen both centrally and definitively struck on a round flan. A light area of weakness is apparent on both sides but has not disguised Charles's strong portrait nor detracted from this coin's eye appeal. Original surfaces beginning to warm from the encroachment of light red tone, making this an altogether charming specimen that is sure to elevate the status of its next coin cabinet.
