Great Britain
Charles I (1625-49) gold Unite ND (1630-31) XF45 NGC, Tower mint, 9.02g, S-2690, N-2150. Plume mm. • CAROLVS • D (inverted ;) G (inverted ;) MAG (inverted ;) BRIT (inverted ;) FR (inverted ;) ET • HIB (inverted ;) REX •, third bust of Charles I right, with large head and large, wide crown, XX (denomination) behind / • FLORENT • CONCORDIA • REGNA, crowned royal shield, C-R to either side. A gorgeous example which, though evincing a clear weakness towards the centers, displays sharp, nearly uncirculated legends. A pleasing coppery hue has also begun to develop around the peripheries, nicely complementing the soft golden color and producing an indelible level of eye-appeal. With a considerable amount of Mint State luster to boot, this hammered beauty is certainly worthy of a premium bid.
