Charles II gold Guinea 1679 XF45 NGC, KM440.1, S-3344. A lustrous and appealing Guinea, exhibiting shallow wear to the surfaces commensurate with its grade but otherwise solidly detailed and satisfying overall. Struck slightly off-center, giving a pleasing crescent of dentils from 10 until 6 o'clock on the obverse. With an old dealer's ticket dated the 17th January 1952, when this piece sold for £5.
