William & Mary Crown 1691 AU50 NGC, KM478, S-3433. TERTIO edge, I/E in GVLIELMVS. Superbly struck for this low-relief type, and of an unusually high eye appeal. Conservatively graded, the only wear present is very light and only on the very highest points of the designs; the remainder is exceedingly well-preserved and attractive. The surfaces a lustrous argent-gray, toned a darker charcoal in the recesses, hints of gold breaking through in places within the fields. A notoriously difficult type to obtain in higher grades, and a wonderful representative specimen.
