George II Proof Farthing 1730 PR65 Brown NGC, KM572a, S-3720, Peck-857. A wonderful example of this first year Farthing struck in proof. Its surfaces are marvelous, a flowing white luster tinged with cobalt imbued within a planchet of smooth, chocolate brown color. George's portrait, notoriously low-relief from start to finish, is fantastically bold here, his pose noble and every curl in his hair sharply represented. All in all, this piece is of outstanding eye appeal and high rarity and will likely command a premium bid thus.
