George IV Shilling 1821 MS67 NGC, KM679, S-3810. A wonderful gem example of this scarce type. A few soft small details at center of reverse, no doubt caused by the fully struck portrait and the really high borders; shimmering luster under rich, iridescent amber-gold and light greenish blue toning. Exceptional eye-appeal. Few shillings of any type have merited the elusive "MS67" grade at either service, for any style of shilling of 1816 onward, but among the rarest types is this style of 1821.
