William IV gold 1/2 Sovereign 1835 MS62 NGC, KM722, S-3831. A beautifully prooflike example, fields so lustrous as to appear reflective, planchet of a rich gold color. William IV's Half Sovereigns are arguably amongst the most popular for the denomination, and this is a prime specimen, the King's portrait bold and the overall eye appeal superb. A minor edge imperfection is noted at 5 o'clock on the obverse but does nothing to discredit what is an exceptional coin. An identically graded example in our January New York sale achieved $2,640.
