George V Penny 1918-H MS65 Red and Brown NGC, Heaton mint, KM810, S-4052. A scarce type produced at the end of WWI when copper was mostly used for the production of artillery, this limited mintage leading to few coins surviving in higher grades let alone as fine as this lustrous Gem. Often shallowly struck, this specimen exhibits remarkably strong detail alongside the usual ghosted portrait of George V on the reverse; the blazing red luster has encountered very little oxidisation, the planchet deeply colored and with few carbon spots. A wonderful selection of the type and with none certified higher, a Penny sure to attract strong bidding.
