Guatemala
Central American Republic 8 Reales 1847 NG-A MS64 PCGS, Nueva Guatemala mint, KM4. A quite extraordinary specimen, one finds many issues of the C.A.R. in AU grades and lower; Mint State examples such as this are scarce, with pieces surpassing choice certification notoriously difficult. This offering thus truly stands out amongst its peers, and not surprisingly is the finest certified by PCGS. A small flan flaw should be noted at the edge, and also a die cud on the reverse above the "S", neither of which impacts eye appeal negatively. With a bold strike revealing intricate detail, ample luster, and a light silver patina gracing the fields, the opportunity to acquire a coveted type in such exemplary condition should not be missed.
