Islamic Dynasties
Ottoman Empire. Mehmed V Specimen 10 Qirsh AH 1327 Year 4 (1911/12)-H SP66 PCGS, Misr mint (in Egypt), KM295. Struck from dies engraved in Birmingham. Common and relatively inexpensive up to low mintstate grades, and extremely rare in this level of certification, fully Gem, and the sole example certified by PCGS. The fields are deeply lustrous, with a crescent of sapphire resting prominently on the obverse curved around an array of red-golds that cloak the bold devices. With such prominent hues chiseling the devices, it would not be incorrect to call this level of eye-appeal both irregular and singular.
