Venice. Paolo Renier Osella 1787-GF Anno VIIII MS61 NGC, KM-Unl., Paolucci II, 270. An absolutely gorgeous representative of this scarcer denomination replete with lustrous, gunmetal fields that reveal a russet iridescence around the legends that contains pleasing flecks of magenta and cobalt. The color scheme gradually blends into the protected regions of the lion's mane and around his toes, sharpening an already deeply impressed design. A bit of weakness appears around the words PRINC : MUNUS, though this is not unusual for the type, and is truly the only "imperfection" that can be noted.
