Sombrerete. Ferdinand VII 8 Reales 1812 AU53 PCGS, KM177. A notoriously crude series, this piece is simply outstanding for the type. We offered the highest certified specimen, an AU55, in our April Chicago sale where it realised $3,840; however, that specimen had been considerably adjustment marked, whilst the present piece has hardly any such imperfections, incredibly unusual for this issue. Handsomely toned an argent-gray, almost full legends and designs, likely amongst the finest of the issue to remain and exceptionally collectable thus.
