Willem II Proof Gulden 1846 PR66 PCGS, Utrecht mint, KM66. Simply put, a visually stunning piece, replete with full mint luster, watery fields, and slate gray mirrors whose aurora of colors deserves explanation on their own--with a full rainbow of iridescent hues melding from cobalt blues that fill the fields and pervade the bust of Willem II, to a plethora of peach-hued russet yellows that approach crimson as the hug the rims. The reverse is similarly spectacular as the rich azure of the center tends towards seafoam as it spreads outwards and catches wisps of magenta. Undoubtedly worthy of a premium bid.
