Alexander I of Russia gold 50 Zlotych 1818-IB AU58 NGC, Warsaw mint, KM103, Bitkin-805. Large head type. Obv. Bare head right. Rev. Crowned imperial double eagle facing, holding scepter, sword, and orb; crown above, crowned and mantled coat-of-arms on breast. Absolutely outstanding, a highly coveted issue with prooflike reflectivity in the fields. Chiefly colored a light lemon-gold, areas of the field hint at an oncoming red patina, very well struck with limited hairlines or contact marks in the fields. The popularity of this type leads to bidder excitement whenever one appears at auction, in any grade; accordingly, we expect this near-Mint State specimen to generate pronounced interest from collectors, and strong bidding.
