Luiz I 200 Reis 1879 VF30 NGC, Lisbon mint, KM512. The lowest mintage date of the type, with only 5,050 examples produced. The NGC Census supports this low number, as this is the only example presently certified by them, with none certified by PCGS. For closest comparison, we sold an 1867-dated 200 Reis in inferior condition back in Sale #458 (Lot #52093) for $1,800 hammer. This issue, with a mintage of roughly half that date's number, should be worth more and yield significant interest from the collecting community.
