Spanish Colony. Alfonso XIII Peso 1895-PGV AU58 NGC, Madrid mint, KM24. An important and popular one year type, the sole Crown produced for Puerto Rico. Scarcely represented in higher grades, this near-Mint State specimen is rare and desirable thus and sure to appeal to collectors of the Puerto Rican series. Its sole detraction a light area of metal damage to Alfonso's portrait, in all other respects this coin commands excellent eye appeal with bold details and an iridescent rainbow tone in the peripheries. A difficult piece to upgrade upon.
