Tartar-type Grivna Ingot ND (c. 14th century), 122mm. 202.29gm. Also called "boat-shaped ingots," associated with the Giray Khan of Krim. These pieces are cast and the example we offer here is nicely preserved for a 600-700 year old silver bar. The only similar piece that we can reference was in Dmitry Markov's Auction 11, September 3, 2003, Lot 456. It realized a hammer price of $4,400. Extremely rare and seldom offered.
