James VI (1567-1625) gold 1/2 Sword & Sceptre 1601 MS62 NGC, Edinburgh mint, Eighth coinage, KM19, S-5462. A bright example of this popular Scottish gold type with much luster and sharp details to be found throughout. Part of the obverse legend is typically off-flan due to an off-center strike, the flan itself with some waves, overall an excellent specimen of the issue in terms of eye appeal and technical grade.
