Charles I (1625-49) 30 Shillings ND (1637-42) AU55 NGC, KM87, S-5557. Type V, Falconer's anonymous issue. A delightful example of this early milled type, exhibiting a far finer quality of engraving and production than was being struck at the English tower mint contemporary to its creation. Almost perfectly round, its detail (particularly the reverse shield) so well struck-up as to fully-define every minute point of the engraving, all illuminated by a gorgeous pale gold luster in the recesses. A premium specimen of Scottish Stuart silver for the selective collector.
