Alfonso XIII gold Restrike 100 Pesetas 1897 (1962) SG-V MS65 NGC, KM708. Struck by the Spanish Mint from original dies in 1961 and 1962, considered an official restrike issue; the year of restrike is incised within the two small stars bordering the original date of 1897. A majestic Gem, its surfaces fully imbued with a matte frosty luster, a butterscotch tone in the centers and the lightest suggestion of a peach tone forming at the peripheries. Clearly, the dies were kept in excellent condition in the 65 years between their creation and the striking of this coin, as hardly any weakness to the strike nor die rust is evident on the sleek planchet of this attractive piece.
