Zurich. Canton gold 1/2 Ducat 1776 MS67 NGC, KM164. The single highest certified specimen of this ever-popular one-year type, impressive considering the habitually high grades seen. One finds it impossible to ignore the high quality of this piece; simply glowing with white luster over lemon-gold surfaces, decidedly prooflike for its reflectivity and sharpness of strike. An absolute pinnacle of eye appeal; the last example of this type we handled was graded MS66 and realized $1,680 in our April Chicago sale, and we expect this technically finer example to command even greater bidder attention.
