MACEDONIAN KINGDOM. Antigonus III Doson (229-221 BC). AR/AE fourrée tetradrachm (31mm, 16.19 gm, 12h). NGC AU 4/5 - 3/5, core visible. Ancient forgery. Head of Poseidon right, wearing wreath of seaweed / ΑΝΤΙΓΟΝΟΥ / ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ, Apollo seated left on ram prow of war galley, bow in right hand; monogram below. Cf. SNG Alpha Bank 1046-1047. Apparently struck from "official dies," identifiable as a fourrée by the visible core.
