PERGAMENE KINGDOM. Attalus I (241-197 BC). AR tetradrachm (31mm, 16.83 gm, 12h). NGC Choice XF 5/5 - 3/5. Pergamum, in the name and types of Alexander III the Great of Macedon, ca. 215-200 BC. Head of Heracles right, wearing lion-skin headdress, paws tied before neck / AΛEΞANΔPOY, Zeus enthroned left, right leg drawn back, feet on ground line, eagle in right hand, scepter in left, coiled serpent and monogram in left field. Price 1490. Evidently quite rare, with no other examples recently offered at auction.
