IONIA. Uncertain mint. Ca. 600-550 BC. EL 1/12 stater or hemihecte (7mm, 1.04 gm). NGC AU 5/5 - 4/5. Linear head of roaring lion left / Oval incuse containing pattern of raised curving lines, resembling an anchor. Unpublished in the standard works of reference. Cf. Weidauer 121 for another "linear" lion head facing right, of slightly different style and with different incuse type. Extremely rare.
