Ferdinand VII 8 Reales 1814/3 P-JF VF Details (Cleaned) NGC, Popayan mint, KM71. An extremely elusive type in all grades--ranking next to the Charles III 8 Reales of the Santiago de Chile mint as the rarest of all silver Colonial bust 8 Reales issues--this one-year type displays a remarkable amount of eye-appeal in spite of clear signs of cleaning and numerous flan flaws. A pleasing russet hue has begun to take up around the protected regions of the devices (most noticeable in the legends) and a surprising amount of detail remains for the VF designator. Sure to be a prized piece highly sought after by Colombian collectors.
