Frederick V silver "300 Years of the House of Oldenburg" Medal MDCCIL (1749) AU58 PCGS, 40mm, Galster-397. By G. W. Wahl. A rare commemorative medal, beautifully struck on a broad, gunmetal-tinged flan that bursts with cobalt color on the reverse and a line of violet that rests on top of the roofs in the port scene, a light burst of peach in the ship's rigging. The obverse is much more subtle in its color scheme, using golden flints to accent the finest points of the devices. Though scattered marks are visible, bounding the given grade, they seem overcompensated for by the superb eye-appeal.
