Brandenburg-Ansbach. Karl Wilhelm Friedrich silver "Birth" Medal MDCCXXXIII (1734) AU - lightly cleaned, 30.03g, 43.1mm, Brockman-567, Fischer/Maué 3.624. By Peter Paul Werner. A very rare and highly artistic piece produced to commemorate the boirth of the Margrave's son, Prince Christian Friedrich Karl Alexander. Featuring a majestic city view of the city of Ansbach on one side and a classical-style scene with the busts of Karl Wilhelm and his father Friedrich Wilhelm I of Prussia, the present specimen adds a consider flourish of beauty, with splendid rainbow cabinet toning having developed around the peripheries and the devices in the city view scene. For reference, a similar example (also raw) achieved 1,000 Euros (just over $1,100) in Künker's September 2015 Auction #267 (Lot 4568).
