Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel. Anton Ulrich Taler 1709-RB MS61 NGC, KM686.1, Dav-2116. An extremely popular type, this 'Wildman' taler has clearly been struck from die with a considerable central weakness. Nonetheless the outlines of all the devices appear fairly strong, a dark orange-amber hugging the rims and accompanied by a certain glassy peripheral luster that occasional bleeds into the fields.
