Saxony. Friedrich August II 1/2 Vicariat Taler 1741 MS63 NGC, KMA907. A highly matte-like, gunmetal-toned specimen of this quintessentially German taler struck by Friedrich August as dual monarch of both Saxony and Poland. The devices appear executed with a pattern-style level of accuracy, all of the devices deeply impressed, and fully rendered in the most minute of details. Only the faintest wisps of handling are detectable under intensive scrutiny, with the more prominent lines being those of die polish which emerge around the details and are coaxed out by iridescent colors.
