Charles II 3 Pence 1679 MS62 NGC, KM433. With O struck over A in CAROLVS. A beautiful specimen exhibiting a noteworthy level of refinement for having been produced from heavily cracked dies. While weakness exists in the lower part of Charles' hair, this remains virtually the only discernable point at which the devices are not sharp in their execution. The fields themselves contain brilliant champagne tones with an iridescent burst of sapphire and amethyst. The only example yet seen by NGC of this scarce variety.
