George III Counterstamped Dollar ND (1797-99) VF Details (Obverse Scratched) NGC, KM638. Oval counterstamp (XF Standard) on Charles IV 1795 8 Reales of Peru (cf. KM97). Strongly double-struck on the obverse with a pleasing soft silvery tone, this counterstamped Bank dollar maintains an impressive level of allure for the grade. A subtle ring of sky-blue tone rings the obverse peripheries while on the reverse, darkened charcoal accents produce a visually soothing contrast, with hints of corrosion emerging around the N in HISPAN.
