Guatemala
Central American Republic 8 Reales 1836 NG-BA MS61 PCGS, Guatemala City mint, KM4. A truly splendid artistic design made all the more so by its high numerical grade, this popular Central American crown is anything but lacking on appeal. A beautifully irisdescent cobalt tone appears around the sheltered peripheries while blast white luster peaks out from around the edges and in the centers. While the lower branches of the tree on the reverse appear a bit weakly struck, and some scattered handling marks can also be detected, the stippling on the mountains remains completely intact and compact die polish lines can still be seen around the tree's outline.
