Spanish Colony. Ferdinand VII Counterstamped 8 Reales ND (1834) VF30 NGC, KM55. Type 5 counterstamp (VF Standard) on Central American Republic 8 Reales of 1826 minted at Guatemala City. A very scarce host for this countermarked series, featuring noticeably even wear and few marks that pairs light silvery color with dark charcoal accents. Traces of luster are still discernable in the obverse fields, further giving this piece a marked degree of eye-appeal not often encountered on such low grade coins.
